Marriage Minute: Speak, Your Servant Is Listening

Listening is a huge part of communication! Samuel said to God, “Speak, your servant is listening”. You have my full and undivided attention. This would be a great way to listen to your spouse. My suggestion is that when you’re talking, make sure your spouse actually heard you. How often have you had this conversation, They say, “I have no idea of what you’re talking about”, and you say, “But I told you”. Telling someone something and them actually being tuned in are two different things. If you’re talking on let’s say station 97.1 but my thoughts are tuned in to 98.3, I didn’t hear a word you said! It’s not intentional, I wasn’t tuned in. Make sure they are tuned in and you’re on the same station lol! Then listen fully to the other person. Don’t interrupt, object, defend yourself, finish the sentence, etc. Just hear them out. “Speak, your servant is listening”! Have a great weekend ~~ Bill
It’s Time: Matthew 5:4

Life is filled with difficult times, sorrows, hardships, consequences, and even physical death. And often times these circumstances can make it impossible to feel hope. But in the beatitudes, found in the fifth chapter of the Gospel of Matthew, Jesus offers incredible hope for those who come to Him in humility and in mourning. When we come in this humility, Jesus has promised us the Kingdom of Heaven and that we will be comforted. If we’ve been there, remember the promises you still have and if you are coming for the first time, embrace this truth! Indeed, for all who believe in Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior, we are never without hope!
