Worship Minute: Excellence
Worship Minute: The Ladder of Faith (as some have called it) found in 2 Peter 1:5-7, consists of 8 virtues that we all should have; Faith, Excellence, Knowledge, Self-Control, Perseverance, Godliness, Brotherly Affection, and Unselfish Love.
Today I talk about the need for us to have Excellence. This really means Goodness, or excellence of character. To have faith is great, but without excellence in our character our faith will not be credible! The Bible says that people who have God’s commands and follow them are loved by Him and He reveals Himself to them. Following the commands of God are the beginning place to being excellent in our character.
So, if you want to have more of Christ in your life, then be a person committed to being excellent in your character! This is Holy and pleasing to God and thereby an acceptable act of true worship! ~ Mark
