To forgive is a decision and extending forgiveness is a journey, and it may take time. But as we seek to forgive others as God has Forgiven us, we will experience the freedom, healing, and peace that come from embracing a heart of forgiveness.
David reveals to us the immense blessing that comes from experiencing God’s Forgiveness. He speaks of the relief and joy that floods the heart of the one whose sins are covered. The life-changing power of confession and the freedom found in being reconciled with God are beautifully described. The blessedness resulted in God’s Abundant Love and Mercy that accompanies Forgiveness.
I see this as an invitation for us to embrace the blessings found in confession and forgiveness. A blessedness not dependent on any of our efforts but a result of God’s Abundant Love and Mercy. It encourages me to examine my heart honestly regularly and acknowledge my shortcomings before God. His Forgiveness taught me the power of extending Grace to others. I learned to forgive myself and extend forgiveness to those who had wronged me. These brought healing to broken relationships and allowed me to move forward with compassion and love. His Forgiveness was not based on my worthiness or good deeds but on His Boundless Grace.
Isn’t it enlightening to experience God’s Overwhelming Peace reigning over us? We are reminded of His Unconditional Love and Grace despite knowing our tendencies.
May we allow His Help to humble us and confess our sins – believing that His Forgiveness is beyond our comprehension. He is eager to reconcile us with Him and renew our spirits that will lead our hearts to overflowing gratefulness at His Boundless Grace.
Prayer:
Father, thank You for Your Immeasurable Grace for me. Help me hear and follow Your Spirit to come to You honestly and vulnerably. I stand in awe of Your Mercy and Goodness. Teach me to love as You Love and to forgive as You Forgive. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.
Have you ever been burdened with unforgiveness toward anyone in your life?
Have you found encouragement in extending forgiveness by reflecting on the things that Christ has forgiven in you?
“Oh, what joy for those whose disobedience is forgiven, whose sin is put out of sight! Yes, what joy for those whose record the Lord has cleared of guilt, whose lives are lived in complete honesty! When I refused to confess my sin, my body wasted away, and I groaned all day long.”

I have been burdened with unwilling to forgive. I have learned to forgive what happened will be between that person and God.
I’ve heard this quote before; Unforgiveness is like drinking poison and waiting for the other person to die.” When harboring unforgivness it harms the person holding the offense, more than it hurts the offender. JESUS says in Mark 11:25 [NIV] “And when you stand praying, if you hold anything against anyone, forgive them, so that your Father in heaven may forgive you your sins.”
It’s hard to forgive someone who’s wronged you. But in doing so, it releases us from the bondage of satan & allows GOD to move in & through us in beautiful ways.
Father GOD, The blood of Jesus is enough to cover me & my sin, so it is more than enough to cover (fill in the blank)______________. I choose you LORD & I forgive them. I relase the hurt I’ve allowed to consume me to you. May this prayer soften my heart & please give me the grace to move forward in Love. Amen!
In my walk I have found that when I was unable to forgive some very deep seated hurt it kept me in a victim mode. When God finally worked on me and I learned how to forgive I had peace. I have also developed some heart connected relationships with some who deeply hurt me and I have got to witness them turning their lives over for Jesus. If God was able to forgive me I have to follow his example and forgive others. Sometimes I am stubborn and it takes a little longer. But God can make me uncomfortable so I submit. Have a blessed day all❤️🙏😇
