The rich and the kingdom of God are a God-sized conundrum. With all their possessions, is there no need for the intervention or providence that God brings? Being rich by the standards of the world doesn’t equal being rich in the Kingdom of God. This means that every wealthy person has to come to a place where they realise all that they have is from God, and that they have been blessed to be a blessing. All that we have is from God, even the ability to grow our wealth, to earn and store up, are all blessings from Him. When we divorce God from our understanding of wealth, therein lies the problem. Selfish ambition, greed, hoarding and pride are a few of the sins that would creep in.
Jesus never said that money was bad. He said that the “love of money” was the root cause of evil. He taught much on the principle of not storing up treasure on earth but in heaven. One way we can do that is to be conscious about being generous with what we are blessed with. The needy and the less fortunate are all around us. It’s time that we find a way to be a blessing to them.
Questions to ask yourself:
Do I consider myself wealthy by the standards of the world or the Kingdom of God?
Who can I bless today?
Scripture Reading
Mark 10:17-22
As Jesus started on his way, a man ran up to him and fell on his knees before him. “Good teacher,” he asked, “what must I do to inherit eternal life?” “Why do you call me good?” Jesus answered. “No one is good—except God alone. You know the commandments: ‘You shall not murder, you shall not commit adultery, you shall not steal, you shall not give false testimony, you shall not defraud, honor your father and mother.’” “Teacher,” he declared, “all these I have kept since I was a boy.” Jesus looked at him and loved him. “One thing you lack,” he said. “Go, sell everything you have and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow me.” At this the man’s face fell. He went away sad, because he had great wealth.
Isaiah 48:17
This is what the LORD says— your Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel: “I am the LORD your God, who teaches you what is best for you, who directs you in the way you should go.
Deuteronomy 8:18
But remember the LORD your God, for it is he who gives you the ability to produce wealth, and so confirms his covenant, which he swore to your ancestors, as it is today.

Our humans hearts and minds can sometimes get pulled into a selfish idol mode, me included; better home, newer cars, sports stars, celebrities, money, (idol worship) yet Gods Word warns us not to worship other idols.
Knowing God is a jealous God, we can sometimes forget where all are blessings have come from. From HIM alone.
Warning:
Isaiah 2:8 “Their land is full of idols; they bow down to the work of their hands, to what the fingers have made”.
However, where do our blessings come from? They come from our Lord alone, so we must never forget to give praise and thanks!
Lets encourage one another to follow
Isaiah 2:5 “Come, descendants of Jacob, let us walk in the light of the Lord”.
Being generous to help others less fortunate or struggling is a blessing worth sharing.
