Devotional thought

My wife and I just visited Hocking Hills Ohio, and saw some very amazing sights while we were there! What I found was that even though I seen them with my own eyes and experienced these locations, I had a very difficult time relating the experience with my words, or even with the pictures I took! It is just something that people have to experience for themselves to get the true sense of awe and wonder as you stand in the caves and valleys and beauty of the places we visited.

I have the same issue when it comes to explaining the feeling that I get when I experience the love of God in my life! It is indescribable, even though I desperately try to convey the message. The love of God and the power of His grace in our lives is best understood when experienced by faith.

The same power that created the heavens and all that you see in them is at work in my life! God, the One who commands lightning bolts where to strike and rain to fall is also commanding my every steps as I look to Him for direction! My Lord is the One who was raised to life after defeating death and is now raising me to new life in Him!

He sees the depths of my heart, He knows my every thought, He processes all of my cares and sympathizes with all of my weaknesses, and still He loves me the same! Indescribable indeed! I hope you know this love that goes beyond description! I pray that you are able to comprehend the incomprehensible love and grace of the One who revealed Himself to all of us in Jesus Christ!

Do you know Him? Know in the experiential sense of the word, not only in intellect! I do not mean do you know of Him, I mean do you know Him through experience?

Prayer

Holy and indescribable God, I praise You for being beyond comprehension and yet revealing Yourself to me enough to know that I desperately need You in my life! I love You Lord and thank You for saving me, thinking about me, and transferring my life into the Kingdom of Your Son’s love! In Jesus’ name. Amen.
