Lunch Devo: Psalm 97:10

Lunch Devo: “You who love the Lord, HATE EVIL!”

  • Is there anything evil that has your heart right now?
    • If so, will you repent of that right now?
  • Do you love the Lord? Have you told Him that today?
  • Have you worshipped God today for preserving your life and delivering you from the grips of wicked people and powers? Will you now?

I have come to the place in my Christian walk where I just hate evil! I have seen the destruction that it causes; the devastation of families and relationships, the pain, the tears, the deception, and so-on. But, I do have to say that at one time I actually looked forward to and pursued certain things that were evil; drunkenness/intoxication, sexual pleasure outside of marriage, filthy language, pornography, etc. Those things were what once characterized my life. I did not hate evil, I embraced it and made it part of my M.O. I say this to my shame, not my glory!

When I repented in 2007, I left that old way of life though and I started to relentlessly rid myself of the evil that once was so prevalent. I did this because of my love for God and my worship of Him for His delivering power! I truly understood that I was a slave to sin before I became a slave of righteousness, and I knew that having righteousness as my guide was going to produce a much more fulfilling and satisfying life! I wanted to please God and I understood that evil was not the way to make that happen. So, I have spent the remaining years of my life trying to live a holy and God-honoring lifestyle that invites the favor of God because I love Him and appreciate all that He has done for me.

Do you have the desire to please God by the relentless cleansing of all things evil in your life? Food for thought.

God bless the rest of your day!
