Devotional thought

Paul prayed that we would have the eyes of our heart enlightened to understand the spiritual realities of being in Christ! I pray along with him that we would truly understand the blessing of having the God of the universe fighting our battles for us, and assuring us of His unfailing love!

There are times throughout our day when we get tempted to think that we are alone, inadequate, defeated, etc., but through the Bible we can see that God is with us in all things and fighting for us at all times. He is greater than any problems that we could ever face! He is mighty and strong to save! There is no reason to fear when we have God with us – He will never fail us!

I believe that we are living in a time of desperation to see the spiritual beyond the physical, just as Elisha asked God to open his servants eyes to see the help that was all around them in the battle of 2 Kings 6. See, I believe that many of us ask the same question that this attendant to Elisha did, “Oh no, my master! What will we do?”, at various points of our day, and it is my prayer that we will have the faith of Elisha to ask the Lord to open up our eyes to the reality of God Himself being able to solve whatever problem(s) that we are facing!

Prayer

Mighty God, I trust You Lord to open up my eyes and help me to see that You are with me today, and forever! I ask You to forgive me when I choose to worry over trusting You, to live in fear over resting in Your ability to fight my battles and never fail me. You are such a Great God, and I praise You for reminding me today that Your love is unfailing for me. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
