Devotional thought
It is easy to think of God’s love being a general thing applied to the whole world, but for some reason we have a disconnect when applying God’s love to our own lives. Unfortunately, shame, guilt, and a host of other things blocks us from dwelling in God’s love for us, but I hope to remind you today that you are a direct recipient of that unfailing love of God!
Our situations change, our relationships might change, our life choices are constantly changing, but God’s love is solid and unchanging based on our situations. He is good, and His love endures throughout all generations. You are not just a passing thought to God, a nuisance to Him, a distraction to His mission! You are His mission!!
God sent His Son, Jesus Christ, to redeem your life! Yes, that truth is applicable for the entire world, but it starts with each individual receiving it for themselves! It starts with us giving thanks to the God of the universe for His unending love for us – personally! He sacrificed everything in order to demonstrate His love for us (see Rom 5:8), so let’s respond to that act of love with a worshipful heart that is willing to sacrifice all that we have in order to follow Him!
What can separate us from the unfailing love of God? Nothing! Receive it for yourself today, dwell in it, and give thanks to God for His love for you! He truly is a good and loving God, praise His name! God’s love truly is meant for you and me to personally enjoy! Are you enjoying it?
Prayer
Dear Lord, I love You and am so grateful that Your love truly is meant for me to enjoy! I thank You that Your love isn’t contingent upon my actions, but that You love me at all times. Praise You for being good in all of Your ways, and for Your unfailing love. I repent of allowing shame to distract me from dwelling in Your love that was given to me to free from shame’s grip! I receive and dwell in Your love afresh now. Thank You in Jesus’ name, Amen!
