Faith & Feelings

Join Pastor Bill McMinn as he and his wife Jeri discuss some of the truths found in C. S. Lewis’ book, “Mere Christianity”, in regard to our faith & feelings, and how they apply to our lives. God bless you.
Who Do You Represent by Your Words and Deeds?
am reminded of the Biblical call to be Ambassador’s of Christ Jesus. In 2 Corinthians 5:20, Paul commands us to be men and women who go out among the world around us making the case for Christ in the way we speak and act. Whenever an ambassador of a Nation goes to another Nation, they are doing so with the full and complete direction and mission of the Leader of their Nation. I believe that the same is true of us who consider ourselves ambassadors of Christ. We have His mission on our mind always, we know who He is, and we conduct ourselves in such a way that the world in which we are representing Him to is going to know who He is and what He stands for as well!

Session 43: Dealing with Temptation

What’s the best way to handle temptation – Eric Barfell and I will discuss it. Let’s face it, we all experience temptation on a regular basis and it’s good to know how to cope!
Is the Word of Christ Dwelling in You?
This is a reference to Christ’s teachings, the Gospel message, and/or the Bible as a whole. “Let the Word of Christ dwell in you richly”, I believe this to be a call to allow the Word of God to be the most evident influence in the dish of your life! When we do allow this to influence everything about us, we will inevitably be a much more “tasty” treat for others to be around. The smell and taste of your life will begin to show forth fruits such as the ingredients that we have been discussing for the past several posts, such as; a heart of mercy, kindness, humility, gentleness, patience, forgiving, etc. (I have been using a clothing analogy in previous points, but think of all of those virtues as ingredients to the dish of your life). This kind of a life is certainly a sweet smelling offering to the Lord and to the people around us!
Worship Minute: Heavenly Citizenship

Worship Minute: “But our citizenship is in heaven—and we also await a Savior from there, the Lord Jesus Christ” (Phil. 3:20).
Are you discouraged and despaired as you look around at the political environment of our Nation in these days? I want to encourage you today by reminding us all that our citizenship is not in this world, our citizenship is in Heaven! Our hope and confidence is in Christ and the reality is that He is coming back, so we need to allow that to inform our citizenship as Americans.
We need to allow the Word of God to be our authority and not conform to the patterns of this world, but we need to allow the Bible to instruct us on how to be excellent citizens of the USA while we live here. Our Heavenly citizenship needs to inform and instruct our Earthly citizenship!
God bless you and may He help us all be excellent Americans as we await His return! Have a great week ~ Mark
