Sunday Services: 8:30AM & 10:30AM

Session 32: Parenting and Teens

Have our youth pastor, Eric Barfell, with me talking about teens.  We discussed setting the example and expectations and communicating.  All relevant stuff!!

Major Resistance

Pastor Bill McMinn continues to teach us about Spiritual Warfare and its implications in our lives. In this sermon he looks at the need to resist evil, to stand strong, and to not reduce Christianity to a religion that is solely focused on the doctrine of love to the exclusion of the whole counsel of God. We hope and pray that you are sourced on to a growing and vibrant faith as you listen!

Is Your Worship Spirited and True? (Part 1)

In the Old Testament we see that worship was primarily an act of adherence to the prescribed methods and instructions of the law. It was very ritualistic and needed to be carried out with precision or else it was not accepted. The emphasis was not necessarily placed on the inward expression of worship from a changed heart and spirit that was completely submitted to God (although that was God’s intention), but was very much about the external conformity to rituals and traditions. The Jews missed the point! They were focused on the wrong things, and I believe that we can be trapped into the same things today – missing the whole point of worship.

Session 31: Love that Works

Love today is getting stretched to mean “accept everything” and that’s not really what it means.  I loved my children but I certainly expected good behavior.  That was part of loving them too!  Talking love today!

Love

Pastors Bill McMinn and Adam Page discuss the topic of Love in todays episode. Here are some of the main talking points:
– Love is unconditional
– Love is sacrificial
– Love is mutual
The discussion points us to the fact that we are called to be loving, but in todays society things that are Biblically loving are characterized as acts of hate. We must keep the Biblical perspective of Christian love, and the Pastors give us examples of how to do that in this Podcast. We hope that you are blessed as you engage with this episode.

Are You Enjoying Life with Your Spouse?

When Chasidy and I spend time together, we usually try to enrich ourselves with study and devotion to the Lord, as well as each other. We both understand the need for us to individually be healthy in our faith and connection with God, so we encourage that each and every day (even when we are on vacation!). I love to read to my wife and then discuss what we studied together. I love to hear her pray! What I have found is that when we take that time to connect with the Lord, our connection becomes so much stronger as a result. There is no greater feeling than to be at peace with the Lord and in harmony with your spouse! It is precious and I hope that all people will be able to experience this great treasure in life!

Worship Minute: Prioritizing Prayer

Worship Minute: We must learn to prioritize prayer. The importance of prayer cannot be overstated! Jesus quoted Isaiah 56:7 when he taught those in the temple after driving out the money-changers when He began to teach them and said, “Is it not written: ‘My house will be called a house of prayer for all nations’? But you have turned it into a den of robbers!” Jesus prioritizes prayer in the house of God, and in His own daily activities (see Luke 6:12 where He spent all night in prayer). My question is, Do we take prayer seriously? Are we prioritizing Prayer in our lives? If not, why not? Also, I want to invite you to come and be a part of the Oasis Prayer gathering on Wednesday evenings from 6:30 – 8pm. We would love to see you and hear your prayers! ~ Mark

Confession

Mark Hostetler and Bill McMinn discuss the importance of confession and the role it plays in keeping relationships healthy, whether between us and God or us and people. We hope and pray that you are enjoying these Podcast episodes.

Session 30: Confession

Sometimes we bear incredible burdens because we will not acknowledge what we did wrong!  We can because God forgives us, we can be relieved of our burdens by confessing it.  We’re not talking about confessing everything that we do but we should confe…
