Enslaved to Righteousness

Choose today to make yourself a slave to Jesus and the righteousness that He has made available to you by His death on the cross. Each of us were once slaves to our flesh and sinful passions, “But thanks be to God that though you were slaves to sin, you obeyed from the heart that pattern of teaching you were entrusted to, and having been freed from sin, you became enslaved to righteousness.” (Romans 6:17-18) Slavery, in this sense, is the best thing that will ever happen to us, so let’s choose today to present ourselves as instruments of righteousness that leads to life! God bless you!

Redemption

Pastors Bill McMinn and Steve Arsulic discuss the implications of redemption in the life of a believer in Jesus Christ in this episode. We hope and pray that you are encouraged as you listen to this Podcast!

Session 29: Redemption

Redemption comes from concept of a slave being bought and set free.  We are free people and free to do the right things but we have to live it!  There is so much hope in God’s power to become a better person who makes a difference in our world.

Using our Freedom Properly

“Live as free people” is what the verse says above, and I believe it is profound! We all have the freedom to say anything that we want – at any time (As Americans anyways). That can be very bad, or that can be very good! In the negative sense, the Bible says that we have the power of death in our tongue (Proverbs 18:21). That is very scary and it should make us think twice before we speak! The very words we speak can and will shape our lives, the tone of the conversations, the disposition of the people around us, and so-on. Using the freedom we have to do evil (e.g. gossip, slander, dishonor, etc.) is never going to bring about anything good and profitable, so let’s not do that. On the contrary, in the verse referenced above it says that the power of life is in the tongue as well (Proverbs 18:21). This is where the “slaves to God” comes into play. Choosing to speak good and noble things instead of letting any unwholesome talk come out of our mouths (Ephesians 4:29), we are speaking life and encouragement into people’s lives as opposed to death and anxiety.

Worship Minute: Honor and Fear for Freedom’s Sake

Worship Minute: I have been looking at 1 Peter 2:16-17 today and it reminds me of the need to be honorable, loving, and to fear God in all of my ways! I hope that you are inspired to worship God through living lives that are honorable to all people and to God. Session 28: Making Choices

Mark and I talk about making good choices and some about God’s Word too!  May it help you along:)

Marriage Minute: Keep Adding Love

I fill the bird feeder because the birds need to eat and they constantly empty it! Imagine that’s like our love! We burn through it and that’s why it constantly needs to be replenished! So add to it all the time in all the kind things that you do! Say, “I love you”, compliment, help out, take out, spend time with, and show love every chance you get! You all have a great and safe weekend!

Marriage Minute: Love in Our Hearts

Hope you’ll all have a fantastic weekend. I was thinking about marriage from a heart perspective. Loving my spouse from my heart is vital. That includes being caring and unselfish and interested and the whole nine yards! What’s going on in our hearts in regards to marriage? Sometimes there may be work to do there to improve our attitudes. It’s something to think about. Hope you’re all staying healthy and and may God bless your love!
