Worship Minute: Faith

Worship Minute: Faith is the assurance of things hoped for and being convinced of what we do not see according to Hebrews 11:1. In 2 Peter 1:5, Peter makes the assumption that his readers are already in the Faith, but I want to stop at the word faith in this verse in order to emphasize the importance of examining ourselves in order to ensure that we really are in “The Faith” before we try to add to it in our lives. Ephesians 2:8 says that we are saved by grace through faith, and that salvation is the gift of God. Jesus Christ is the only name by which we must be saved (Acts 4:10), so we need to make sure that the faith we have is in Him and Him alone – not our works, or any other means. God has given us everything necessary for life and godliness, and His precious promises made us partakers of the Divine Nature, so if that is your faith then next week we can start to explore the 7 things that we should be adding to our faith in order to grow in the rich knowledge of God and of Jesus Christ our Lord! Have a worshipful week. ~ Mark
Session 16: Listening

Listening is a much needed trait these days. It’s easy to talk and harder to listen so let’s take a look at what the Bible says in this regard! Appreciate Mark doing the show with me!!
Blame Shifting…Genesis 3:10-13

I easily acknowledge a lot of injustice in this world. But whatever injustice we have had to endure does not give us freedom to respond in any way we see fit. God will hold us accountable for our actions and our response is our responsibility. We are called to be different and to be known for our love for one another. Let us stay on mission and share the hope of Jesus Christ to a lost world!
Listening

In this episode Pastors Bill McMinn and Mark Hostetler discuss the importance of listening to and empathizing with people. Listening to people is one of the most courteous activities we can do for people, and people are always wanting to be heard and understood. So, let’s be a people that are quick to listen and slow to speak. God bless!

Worship Minute: Worldly Corruption

Worship Minute: In 1st Peter 1:4, we are told that God in His glory and excellence of character has bestowed on us His precious promises (i.e. salvation, forgiveness, redemption, etc.), and that upon receiving these promises we have become partakers of the Divine Nature, and that we are able to escape the worldly corruption fueled by evil desires around us! That is great news for those of us that do not want to get caught up in the corruption and rhetoric of the day.
Now that we have received those promises we are able to align ourselves with the very nature of God, upholding His characteristics and glory as we engage with the culture around us.
We are the ones that have escaped the corruption of the world, so we are the ones that should be able to look at the situations of the day, whatever they may be, and provide a rational, truthful, and empathetic approach to answering the calls for a solution.
Our answers are to be informed by much time spent on our knees partaking with the Divine Nature Himself, instead of much time spent on the couch with a TV telling us what to think! Let’s be Co-Laborers with Jesus and be a part of the solution by seeking our God together first. ~ Mark

Steve Sargent and I are doing our best to talk through some issues and also strategies to combat racism. The thought of injustice routinely happening to a group of people is staggering. We as believers can have no part of looking down at others bec…
