Day 39 of 40 Days

Read Daily Devotional Psalm 19 has to be my favorite psalm in all of Scripture. As a Worship Leader and Music Director for more than 16 years, it seems fitting that Psalm 19 starts with the byline “For the director of music”. In fact, just reading through the entire psalm now sparks memories of special […]
Day 38 of 40 Days

Read Daily Devotional Have you ever looked up at the sky and wondered where Father God dwells? Or which cloud looks like the Royal Armchair He should be sitting on? Of course, Father God is not hiding in the skies waiting for us to find Him, but the psalmist is highlighting the importance of WHO […]
Day 37 of 40 Days

Read Daily Devotional In a recent silent retreat, my spiritual director asked me a question that I wasn’t able to answer. He asked, “Albert, what do you desire?” A simple question indeed. But it stopped me cold. It would be easier if he asked me what I “wanted” instead. There are things that I am […]

Day 36 of 40 Days

Read Daily Devotional Jean-Michel Basquiat, an artist from the late 20th century, once said, “Art is how we decorate space, music is how we decorate time.” As we think about our time here on Earth, it is awe-inspiring to me that music exists. Melodies and harmonies fit together to make sounds that decorate our life […]
Day 35 of 40 Days

Read Daily Devotional The subtitle for Psalm 131 is “A Song of Ascents”, which traditionally is affiliated with Jewish pilgrimages up to Jerusalem to worship and be with the Lord. Although the pilgrims would physically be looking up as they journey towards this great feat, the psalmist teaches not to lift up our hearts, raise […]
God is Focused on the Heart – Mark 7

It’s easy to focus on appearances—but God is focused on the heart.
In Mark 7, Jesus confronts the idea that outward behavior makes someone holy. The religious leaders had all the right rules and traditions, but their hearts were far from God. Jesus makes it clear: true change doesn’t start on the outside—it starts within.
This week, we’ll dive into what it really means to follow Christ from the inside out: • Are we focused on appearances or transformation?
• Are we following man-made rules or God’s truth?
• What’s really flowing out of our hearts?

Day 34 of 40 Days

Read Daily Devotional This psalm is a contemplation of David when he was betrayed by the Ziphites (who were Israelites and shared the same tribe as David) to King Saul but before God’s deliverance was displayed. In David’s distress, he both relied on the Name and Might of God. The Name of God speaks to […]
