Devotional thought
The happiest day in all of history is when the Disciples of Christ entered that tomb He was buried in and discovered that He was not in that tomb! They seen and experienced the reality of the Christ being raised from the dead! The Angel told them that He is not there, He is Risen!
That was the greatest day in history because through that experience we all have been given the opportunity to receive salvation. We have all gained access into life eternal because our Lord overcame death, and because of that we can all overcome death’s grip too!
The reason this is the happiest day for all of us is because we all have received forgiveness of our sin through the risen Christ! His transformation turned into our transformation! He bore the burden of our shame, our guilt, our death, and carried it to the Father as He took His seat next to Him at His right hand! As He did, He declared, “Father, forgive them for they know not what they are doing.” And God demonstrated His love toward us in accepting the offering of Jesus His Son even while we are yet sinning!
The greatest day in history is extended to us as each of us receive Jesus to be our personal Savior! When we make the decision to follow the Lord Jesus in salvation, that day becomes our greatest day in history. I know that day and the hour that it happened for me! How about you? Do you remember the greatest day in your history? The day that the Lord Jesus Christ revealed Himself to you, and forgave you all of your sin!
I hope and pray that you do remember that day, and that you celebrate the wonderful blessing that day brought into your life. I pray that you are walking in the newness of life, the transformation that comes when one gives their life to Christ! I pray that the Gospel has taken complete hold of your life and that the greatest day in history has brought you life and life to the fullest!
Prayer
Dear Father, I praise You for that day that Jesus completed the work You gave Him to do. Because of His obedience, I am now forgiven and called Your very own child! I praise You for the transformation You brought into my life. I ask that You keep that greatest day in history in the forefront of my mind, so I can remember the wonderful day that I received Your love and forgiveness in my life always! In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
