Devotional thought
Our God is the Lion of Judah and the Lamb that was slain. From every end of the spectrum, Jesus Christ is all-in-all for those of us who trust in Him!
Our Sacrifice
When it says that Jesus is the Lamb it is referring to the fact that He became the sacrifice that died on behalf of the sins of the world! God requires blood to be shed for the forgiveness of sins, and in the Old Testament the Priests would offer sacrifices throughout the year and once a year for atonement for the sins of Israel. Jesus Christ IS the Priest that presented Himself as the Sacrificial lamb on behalf of all who trust in Him for salvation!
We cannot offer a perfect sacrifice to cover our sins, we must trust in the perfect and spotless Lamb of God, Jesus Christ, to be that pleasing sacrifice that takes away our sins for us!
Our Leader
One day soon, Jesus Christ is coming back to establish His rule on the Earth! He is coming on the clouds, and there is nothing that will stop that Day from coming. Christ is returning! He will be leading the charge to cleanse the world of evil and to establish His righteousness on the earth.
We can all have that Leadership right now in our lives! Jesus wants to come into our lives and establish His Kingdom and His righteousness in our hearts right now! His leadership requires our submission, and when we look to Christ to lead us He will never disappoint us. We can trust Him in all situations to provide perfect leadership if we commit to being still and listening for His voice and following it when we hear it!
Questions for Reflection
- Have you allowed Him to have the Leadership/Lordship role in your life?
- What is the evidence of that?
- Have you worshiped Jesus Christ today for being that sacrificial Lamb for you to atone for your sins?
- Will you now?
Prayer
Dear Father, thank You for sending Jesus Christ to this world to be the perfect sacrificial Lamb that I needed to die in my place in order to receive the forgiveness of my sins. I praise You, God, for providing that means for my forgiveness. I also praise You for the security I have in Your ability to lead me well through this life! I ask Your forgiveness where I usurp Your leadership by trying to control things that I should be releasing to You, Lion of Judah. I repent and will choose to trust Your leadership. Please help me, in Jesus’ name. Amen.
