Lunch Devo: “Be strong! Do not fear!”
- How is your day going?
- Is there anything that is causing you to fear/panic today?
- Do you feel weak or helpless about anything?
- Do you believe that you can trust God to come and make right that which is wrong?
- Will you praise Him for being the God who delivers?
I understand that this is a hard concept to grasp, God avenges and bring retribution upon people. Not only is it a hard concept, but a terrifying one at that! I do not want the Almighty God of the Universe coming against me in any way, shape, or form!
He tells us to be strong and not fearful, not to panic because He is the One who will avenge. I make sense of this by remembering how many times I have acted out of fear and in a panic ended up hurting people. It seems to me that God is telling us not to react to the hurts and treatment that people can inflict upon us, but to be at peace and trust Him to right the wrongs in His ways and in His timing. This takes patience, trust, and ultimately a lot of prayer! Nevertheless, we must not panic, but we must be strong and trust God for the outcomes to whatever situation(s) we are in right now!
Our God is the Deliverer! Let’s not fear today, but trust Him to avenge.
