Faithful in a Faithless World

In this episode of The Way to Go Podcast, Bill McMinn and Eric Barfell walk through Psalm 37, unpacking what it means to trust in the Lord, do good, and delight in Him—even when evil seems to win. They reflect on yard work, ministry life, family rhythms, and the challenge of staying focused on God in a world full of distractions. If you’ve ever wrestled with envy, injustice, or just wondered how to stay rooted when life feels unfair, this conversation will encourage your heart and ground your faith.

Main Passage: Psalm 37
Key Topics: Trusting God, spiritual focus, generosity, practical faith, and delighting in the Lord.

What If the Storm Is God Speaking?

Sometimes the most confusing moments in life are the very places God chooses to speak. In this message, Pastor Bill walks us through Job 37–38, where God answers out of the storm. When we feel in the dark, overwhelmed, or forgotten, God hasn’t abandoned us—He’s reminding us to trust Him beyond what we can see or understand. If you’ve ever wrestled with the question “Why?”, this is for you. God is still working, still speaking, and still trustworthy.

Don’t Worship What God Made #christianfaith #selfcontrol #discipline

Job didn’t blow kisses to the sun—and neither should we.
He didn’t worship what was made. He worshiped the One who made it.
Sunsets, birds, seasons—these don’t lead your life. God does.
Horoscopes, tarot cards, and “Mother Nature” may sound harmless, but they blur the line between awe and idolatry.

👉 Creation is meant to point us to the Creator—not replace Him.

Finding God In The Dark – Matthew 1:23

This week, we reflect on Joseph’s unexpected journey and how, in the midst of confusion and disappointment, he encountered the presence of God. In Matthew 1:23, we see the powerful promise of Immanuel—God with us. Though Joseph faced uncertainty and heartbreak, God was working behind the scenes, revealing His plan and calling Joseph to trust Him.

Pain often sharpens our focus on God. Like Joseph, we may experience seasons where our dreams seem shattered, our plans fall apart, and we struggle to understand what’s happening. But even in those dark moments, God is present, guiding us toward His greater purpose.

Faith calls us to react in the light of God’s Word, to trust His promises, and to find comfort in His presence. Fear may try to hold us back, but God’s plans are always greater than our uncertainties. He invites us to step forward in faith, knowing that His purpose is unfolding even when we can’t see the full picture.

Are you looking for God in the midst of your struggles? Are you trusting Him even when life doesn’t go as planned? Let this season be a reminder that God is with you—always.
