Worship Minute: In 2 Peter 1:3 we see that God has given us everything necessary for life and godliness by His divine power and through the knowledge of Jesus Christ. He called us into His Kingdom and wants us to operate in godliness, but first we must know Him personally as our Savior. Godliness is not present in our lives until we have life in Him, because it is only through His divine power at work in our regenerated lives that produces any sort of godliness in us.
The reason this is important to understand is because when we see the chaos and ungodliness in the world today, we should be praying for these people to answer the call to know Him and to receive the life that comes through the saving knowledge of His Son (John 10:10)!
My encouragement to all of us is that we spend time seeking the Lord and asking Him to lavish grace and peace upon this entire world so that people may come to know Him and the Love He has shown us through His Son Jesus Christ, and by extension may we see acts of godliness and justice throughout our Nation and World!! ~ Mark
