Worship Minute – Foolish Arguments

Worship Minute: “Don’t have anything to do with foolish and stupid arguments,..” 2 Timothy 2:23. The person who is pursuing Godliness as a lifestyle will avoid foolish arguments! I know that it is tempting to engage with those that oppose our views and faith, but please do not get caught up in arguments that do not amount to anything anyways. It is so hurtful to our witness when we do this. Instead, gently instruct, teach, and keep your focus on helping them to understand the Truth without being quarrelsome. Remember that the enemy is wanting to make you look like a fool, and believe me when I say that when you and I are red-faced screaming at someone because they think Christmas is a pagan holiday- you are right where satan wants you! Let’s mature in our understanding of how to engage with the opponents of the faith by making this our priority: 2:25 (b) “in the hope that God will grant them repentance leading them to a knowledge of the Truth.” Have a great week! ~ Mark

It’s Time – 1 Timothy 2:5

Getting to heaven is a one way bridge through faith in the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. Jesus did for us what we could not do ourselves and provided a pathway to eternal life for all who believe…

“For there is one God, and there is one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus…” 1 Timothy 2:5

Marriage Minute – Priorities

We are told in the Bible to leave our parents and cling to each other. That’s powerful at many levels. Certainly the husband and wife relationship is the priority relationship above all others. Most of us could easily agree to that but do we practice it? I have heard many stories over the years where one spouse or the other feels like they’re the bottom of the list as far as importance goes. The wife asks her husband to fix something and he doesn’t do it for months. His mother calls and has a leaky faucet and the world has to stop so he can get that repaired lol! What did he just communicate to his wife? She’s not as important! You might as well have written it in neon bright colors because anyone can see that one coming! Parents are important but pleasing your spouse is more important. It doesn’t have to be either/or but we need to make sure our partner feels like they are the most important to us. So listen, do what makes them happy, don’t leave them high and dry all the time while you pursue other interests, make time for them, and certainly never assume they’ll always be there no matter how you treat them. Make them your number one!! Have a great weekend ~~ Bill

Worship Minute

Worship Minute: I am talking about meditation on God’s Word today and the importance of focused devotion time with the Lord! In today’s distraction-rich culture it is hard to get that uninterrupted time with God, but it is absolutely critical for the child of God to intentionally set apart this time with Him! Psalm 119 (the longest chapter in the Bible and every verse has to do with the Word and it’s importance!) is full of verses that encourage us to meditate on the Word, so if you need to be inspired to get into God’s Word daily, check it out for yourself. Here is a verse that I find helpful, “O how I love your instructions! I think about them all day long.” (Ps. 119:97). God’s Word is there for you to meditate on, so go to it worshiper of the Almighty! Have a blessed week! ~ Mark

Kentucky Mission Trip Recap

Some of our Senior High Students took a trip down south to Clay County, KY; one of the poorest counties in the US today.
Each morning we drove deep into the hollers of Manchester and built 2 decks, for some nice ladies.
Every afternoon was a bit different, either serving at a homeless shelter, or running VBS, it was a GO! GO! GO! Kind of trip.

Early every morning we did our devos and then came back together after dinner and discussed what we had read and learned.

Tough, Challenging, Impactful, Eye-opening, Rewarding, and Awesome are all words I would use to describe our trip!

Shoutout to LeaderTreks for all they did for us, and the lessons we were taught.

Consequences when out of step

I know personally, and from many testimonies I have heard, that instant gratification of our fleshly desires has led to many consequences and a lot of dysfunction in the home. From marriage to addiction, to any kind of immoral living, the consequences are real. And all because we possibly wanted something…”Now!” Whatever felt good temporarily is not consequence free. We can avoid this disobedience however if we stay in step with the Holy Spirit. The power is in us, and we should expect this victory. Trust that Jesus, who was even tempted Himself, knows how to help those being tempted by their own flesh to be disobedient. Staying in step with the Spirit brings peace and real gratification…
