Job 40:3-5, The meekness of Job

In the struggles and difficulties of life, it can seem very unfair and we question, where is God? Doesn’t He see our problems? Won’t He help? Of course God is fully aware of all things. Of course He sees our struggles but will we submit to Him? In meekness, will we willingly acknowledge an Almighty and Holy God who is greater than ourselves? Will we submit to His authority over our lives and walk humbly with Him? When we say yes to these questions, there is life, there is blessing, and there is victory, no matter what the stuggle…
Marriage Minute – A Little Validation

Sometimes we just need to validate our spouse’s feelings. Listen without interrupting, empathize, understand, care, give them a hug. However, sometimes our response goes to parceling out fixes or just saying, “You shouldn’t feel that way”. I know I’m guilty of this as a guy. It’s so simple, “Don’t feel that way” as if that’s cased closed and problem solved. Listen without cutting your spouse off, or jumping to conclusions, or judging them for what they’re saying. Seek to understand it. You all have a fantastic weekend!! ~~ Bill

Worship Minute – Musicals

Worship Minute – Today I am encouraging us to live our lives like a musical! All throughout the Bible there are examples of how people responded to the Lord and His faithfulness in their lives through song. The story of Deborah in Judges 4-5, the Psalms, Mary, Zechariah, Paul in Philippians 2, and so on. Maybe we don’t have to break out in the middle of a conversation into a song and dance routine, but it wouldn’t hurt us to sing a song unto the Lord for all that He is doing in our lives. My recommendation would be to find a song that best expresses your specific worship for the moment, and then play it often and sing it loudly! It will help you to release the emotions that are built up within you that cannot come out unless accompanied by music. Music is powerful and it helps us to be expressive in our worship and praise, so get to it and start singing a song unto the Lord! Have a great week. ~ Mark

Worship Minute – Col. 3:12-17

Worship Minute: “Let the peace of Christ control your heart.” I am looking at Colossians chapter 3:12-17 today and discussing what our lives should look like as an elected child of God. We should be characterized by peace and love as we show mercy and kindness to those around us, forgiving those who have sinned against us just as God in Christ has forgiven us. Everything that we do should come out of a heart that is grateful to the Lord for His mercy and compassion upon our own lives! Treating others with peace and love is our response to how God has treated us, and this is an act of worship unto the Lord! Sing and praise Him for electing you if you have indeed received Jesus as your Savior. ~ Mark
It’s Time – Nehemiah 9:36

Nehemiah recognized that he and the returning exiles were still slaves because of their sins even though they had just returned from captivity. In their desire to get back to where God really wanted them, they made a plan, signed it, and committed to making the necessary changes. Nehemiah didn’t do it alone and we are never alone through Jesus Christ and His church.

Worship Minute – Unity

Worship Minute: Jesus prayed to the Father in John chapter 17 asking that we would all be one just as He and the Father are one!
– Firstly, I think it is awesome to know that Jesus was and is praying for me and you!!
– Secondly, I know that unity means a lot to the Lord and it should also mean a lot to us. There should be great joy when we think about the reality of being united with Christ.
I seen this joy in a very real sense when I watched my niece getting married earlier this year. Her husband was smiling, laughing, crying, almost jumping up and down when he seen her walking towards him. I also see this when someone truly understands the Gospel and personally receives the Lord Jesus as Savior. There is a sense of finality to it that produces much joy, as it should.
A worshiper will always be looking for ways to grow closer to Christ, and this (in my opinion) is one of the best ways to understand the relationship we have with God – we are united with Him; we are one!! May God bless you in your growing understanding of Christ Jesus. ~ Mark
It’s Time – Hosea 10:12

When Jesus began His public ministry, the message was simple, “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.” (Matthew 4:17) God’s message has never changed. In Hosea, 10:12, God says to the hard-hearted and unfaithful nation of Israel, “Sow for yourselves righteousness; reap steadfast love; break up your fallow ground, for it is time to seek the LORD, that he may come and rain righteousness upon you.”
To repent means to turn, to change, we have to break up the things that are keeping us separated from God and be open to change. It’s time for a new season of growth away from the pale, unfruitful, uselessness of being fallow. It’s time to be the new creation God has called us to be and allow His righteousness to rain down upon us!
